Meet the new SAMRA Chairman, Jill Solomon

Following the Annual General Meeting in August 2018, the SAMRA Board has elected Jill Solomon as SAMRA Chairman for 2018/2019. Congratulations to Jill, and we wish her all the best for the exciting year that lies ahead!

Jill is Group Customer Insight Manager at Sun International, and is SAMRA’s Small Client Director. Her vision for the Chairmanship is inspiring:

“Innovation is key – we need to completely reanalyse our business model to move further towards being indispensable to the membership, which will ensure SAMRA’s relevance, financial stability and continuity”

Jill believes in offering members value through member oversight, local activities, tangible benefits, and communication to keep members informed.

Jill started her career in the research industry in the mid-eighties as Information Consultant at SVP South Africa. She moved to Siemens Limited where she was a Marketing Analyst for two years. Jill then moved to supply-side when she became Account Director at Ipsos (then Markinor). After 9 years she changed back to client-side as Direct Marketing Manager at IBM SA. She moved to HealthBridge when she was appointed CRM Manager in the early 2000s, and stayed in the same role when she moved to Mondi Business Papers. In 2007 she switched back to supply-side, joining Bateleur Khanya Research Solutions as a Director of the company, before joining client-side again at Sun International, as Group Relationship Marketing Manager nine years ago.

Jill holds a Psychology Honours Degree from the University of Johannesburg (1992), and Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand (1981).
